As a health and wellness enthusiast, I believe everyone should have the mobility and strength to live long, healthy, and pain-free life. Being a certified personal trainer with ISSA and a student of the Fitness and Health Promotion at Humber College, my knowledge of movement mechanics allows me to create a stretch program plan to optimize the healing/recovery process for people. Ultimately, my passion to promote wellness whilst helping people have the best experience possible here at StretchLab, is rooted in the “mens sana in corpore sano” principle which translates to” a healthy body in a healthy mind”.

I am a Mindfulness Life Coach and yoga instructor dedicated to helping people heal physical trauma in the body through stretching, breathwork and mindfulness. I guide others in shifting from the mind into the body by combining Western mindfulness practices, rooted in self-compassion, with yogic pranayama meditations. My approach is further informed by my study of Compassionate Inquiry with Dr. Gabor Maté, a therapeutic method that helps uncover and heal trauma stored in the body. Breathwork, in particular, plays a vital role in this healing, allowing us to release deep-seated physical and emotional pain.

With sports being a big part of my life since a young age, it has taught me the importance of movement and living an active lifestyle. My passion for sports led me to become a Kinesiology graduate from the University of Toronto, in addition to becoming a personal trainer. Today’s society places too much emphasis on aesthetics (i.e. gaining lean muscle) & not enough on function (i.e. mobility). At StretchLab I want to be able to help and educate individuals on how we can all live a pain free, healthy & active life. P.S. Being strong and healthy never goes out of style!

      Flexologist
My name is Daniel Laurenza, and my educational background consists of both a Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology, and Masters degree in Kinesiology & Health Science (specialized in Neuroscience & Biomechanics). I also work as an R.KIN in occupational fitness assessment, certified with the College of Kinesiologists of Ontario. My academic journey quickly ignited my interest and passions for human anatomy and physiology, and I found myself curious as to how these principles have real-world application towards functional movement optimization for all populations. It's my goal as a Flexologist to combine the knowledge and technical skills I've developed in my past, with the highly specialized stretching modalities at StretchLab, to positively and productively impact the lives of all of my clients. Concurrently, I am to prioritize knowledge translation as a pillar of my work as a Flex, to help my clients understand exactly HOW and WHY movement and stretching is paramount to living their healthiest, best life.
