Mirella
Flexologist
Hi, I'm Mirella! The concept of health and happiness has greatly impacted my purpose. I learned early in my life that I had a passion for movement, and my earliest passions of gymnastics and dancing would eventually lead to my later interest in yoga and tai-chi. I truly love how the body could heal through that movement. As a psychology major, I studied the human stress response and how it could be impacted by human touch. This brought me to study the field of nursing with a focus in geriatrics and hospice care. My passion for overall good health would lead me to StretchLab.
When I stretch a member, I instruct them to focus on the breath. Good, deep breathwork can literally kick our bodies out of fight or flight mode, and turn on the healing portion of our autonomic nervous system. After seeing how the body and mind interact in different healthcare settings, I know that the work I do will help people feel better and achieve more balance in their life, both literally, and figuratively :) !!
One of the most satisfying aspects of the work I do here at StretchLab, is having the opportunity to engage in a fun activity that supports others gaining physical balance, flexibility, strength, and various cognitive benefits, such as motivation and relaxation.
This position is a blessing in my life, and I look forward to sharing it with others!
