      Flexologist
Hi, I'm Sarika! I'm a Flexologist here at StretchLab and have also been a Physical Therapist (PT) specializing in Orthopedics and Women's Health since 2002. My career in Physical Therapy has been extremely rewarding, as I have always been enthusiastic to help people of all ages heal and recover from injuries/conditions related to accidents, work, sports and/or other hobbies, postural dysfunction, etc., and assisted stretching has always been a fundamental component of my repertoire as a PT. In 2020, after managing a privately owned Physical Therapy clinic in California's Bay Area for nearly ten years, I returned to my Chicagoland roots during the Pandemic. At this time, when searching for methods to achieve my own optimal physical, mental and emotional health, I discovered my passion for Restorative Yoga, a meditative form of Yoga that focuses heavily on breath work and passive stretching. Subsequently, I strive to combine my own experiences, education and expertise to help others from all backgrounds reach their health, fitness and wellness goals and reduce their risk of injury during activities of daily living, integrating body awareness and mindfulness while improving posture, flexibility and joint mobility. StretchLab is the ideal place to do this! Outside of StretchLab, I spend my free time connecting with music, losing myself in books, staying active in various ways, enjoying the company of family and friends, and doing pretty much anything with my husband and two children. I'm looking forward to working with you, and whether you're looking for a meditative stretch or one that's going to push you to your limits (quite literally!), I assure you that your mind, body, soul and spirit will thank you!

My journey with stretching and flexibility began at Lyons Township High School as a gymnast and springboard diver. While attending the University of Oregon, I discovered the practice of yoga. Initially seeing it as a way to continue my overall flexibility; I ultimately fell in love with the practice after finding a deeper spiritual connection with my body, mind and soul. Yoga became a daily practice for me after a car accident on my bicycle left me with chronic back and neck pain. After about 5 years of practice, a little massage and chiropractic therapy, I was able to relieve myself of what was once constant pain and discomfort. Once I experienced this first hand, I decided to become a yoga instructor so I could provide others with the same healing and spiritual benefits. I obtained my 200 hour certification in 2019 after practicing for 9 years. I recently moved back to the area where I have been teaching at the Esporta in Countryside as well as through Zoom via in-balancelife.com I love to stay physically active and workout daily. Other physical activities I enjoy are: hiking, kayaking, sailing, swimming, biking, frisbee golf, dancing, and sand volleyball. I look forward to meeting all my new clients and helping you achieve your flexibility goals and hopefully provide lasting healing.

I graduated from Concordia University Chicago with a degree in Exercise Science and a minor in Spanish. I’ve been playing soccer since I was six and continued through college, so movement and recovery have always been a big part of my life. In college, I worked alongside athletic trainers, which made me appreciate and realize how important it is to take care of your body—whether you're recovering from an injury or trying to prevent one. I plan on heading back to school soon to earn my master’s in Strength and Conditioning, and I’m excited to bring that knowledge into helping you move and feel your best.

      Master Flexologist
I am a yoga instructor and practitioner. I was inspired to become a Flexologist at StretchLab because I value movement and wellness and wanted to be aligned with a brand that shares those values. I want clients to feel tranquil, comfortable in their bodies, present, and have the freedom to move. I’ve had a client tell me that after coming to StretchLab consistently is the best they have felt in a long time. I’m proud that I could be a part of that experience. Outside of StretchLab, I love to cook delicious meals, listen to podcasts, have deep conversations about differing views, and look at good city or nature views.
