Lori
Flexologist
I am a certified Pilates instructor, certified in various Pilates formats, including Pilates for Multiple Sclerosis and Pilates for Neurological Conditions. Additionally, I am contemporary and classically trained in Pilates, hold a Yoga Certification, and have earned many continuing education certificates. My educational and training background has given me a solid foundation for my endeavors with StretchLab and the technique of Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF) stretching.
Currently, I teach Pilates at the Oregon Ballet Theater, where I work with principal and company dancers and assist with rehabilitation in collaboration with physical therapy. During the off-season, I teach Pilates group classes for nearly 40 trainee dancers in the Summer Intensive Program. I genuinely enjoy teaching Pilates and often incorporate a Yoga pose or two. I am continuously learning new techniques to enhance and refine my craft.
Through working with a group of physicians, I recognized how movement can impact our daily lives and aid in our healing process. My clientele includes a diverse range of individuals, spanning ages from 14 to 87, encompassing various body shapes and sizes. I have had the privilege of working with a diverse clientele, including individuals with Multiple Sclerosis, Breast Cancer survivors, Autism, ADD, ADHD, Scoliosis, Ankylosing Spondylitis, Osteoporosis, Pre/Post Spinal Surgery, Neuropathy, Arthrogryposis, Diabetes, Post Knee and Hip Surgeries, as well as many active men and women.
I'd be honored to help you build lasting healthy habits that will support you in all your pursuits, creating a strong connection between your mind and body that will stay with you for life.
Guiding principles I live by:
When you look back, learn and grow to move forward. Observe to know what you like and grow from that.
Dance as if no one is watching and don't care that they are.
