I love to explore how the mind, body, and spirit interconnect. I’ve been practicing yoga since 2008, and teaching yoga since 2012. I developed my yoga therapy with Gabriel Halpern serving as an apprentice at his Yoga Circle. Additional yoga teacher training was from highly esteemed Moksha Yoga Center (200 HR), Prenatal Yoga with Amala School of Prenatal Yoga, Yoga for Kids and Families through Global Family Yoga, and Yoga for Cancer Survivors with Dr. Ingrid Yang. I co-founded YogaCare and Socially Engaged Yoga Network to spread the health benefits of yoga. I’m now studying functional nutrition with Andrea Nakayama. Variety is the spice of life for me. Raising two children and two dogs, teaching yoga and meditation, training for a sprint triathlon and half marathon, enjoying food, arts, and nature, I constantly seek ways to integrate peace and balance within while juggling life and being present in the moment. There’s so much to love about being a Flexologist at StretchLab. I enjoy connecting with a variety of personalities, lifestyles, and physiques. I love to sprinkle in nuggets of yoga wisdom, integrate yoga alignment and breathing techniques within the StretchLab protocol. Sharing moments of peace, relief, and laughter while stretching my clients brings me much joy. Let’s explore how I can help you achieve your goals through increased flexibility!

Hi! Several years ago, I became interested in fitness and wanted to expand my knowledge, so I became a certified personal trainer through NASM. Currently, I am enrolled in College of DuPage’s Physical Therapist Assistant Program. At StretchLab, I’m excited to have the opportunity to educate and help others enjoy all the benefits of stretching. I love learning and sharing anything associated with health and wellness. Some of my other interests include paragliding, hiking, gymnastics, and exercise. In order to help prevent injuries, feel good, and partake in all these activities I make time balance my body by regularly stretching. I ensure that incorporating stretching into your daily routine will improve your quality of movement, and in turn, life. In this fast-paced life it is important to make the time for self-care. I look forward to welcoming you to StretchLab and helping you reach your goals.

I graduated from Northern Illinois University in December of 2021 with a Bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences with a Pre-Physical Therapy Emphasis. Health and Fitness has always been a huge part of my life – I grew up playing baseball, football, and track, then played club rugby at NIU. The immense benefits of exercise led me to pursue a career in physical therapy and am currently applying to PT school. I also hold a personal training certification from the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), and work as a physical therapy technician which I bring an array of experiences ranging from injury prevention, corrective exercise, rehabilitation, and strength/weight training. Outside of Stretchlab, I enjoy being outdoors (camping, hiking, canoeing), watching sports (Go Cubs!), working out, and spending time with friends and family. I look forward to meeting you and helping you reach your goals!

Hi, I'm Sarika! I'm a Flexologist here at StretchLab and have also been a Physical Therapist (PT) specializing in Orthopedics and Women's Health since 2002. My career in Physical Therapy has been extremely rewarding, as I have always been enthusiastic to help people of all ages heal and recover from injuries/conditions related to accidents, work, sports and/or other hobbies, postural dysfunction, etc., and assisted stretching has always been a fundamental component of my repertoire as a PT. In 2020, after managing a privately owned Physical Therapy clinic in California's Bay Area for nearly ten years, I returned to my Chicagoland roots during the Pandemic. At this time, when searching for methods to achieve my own optimal physical, mental and emotional health, I discovered my passion for Restorative Yoga, a meditative form of Yoga that focuses heavily on breath work and passive stretching. Subsequently, I strive to combine my own experiences, education and expertise to help others from all backgrounds reach their health, fitness and wellness goals and reduce their risk of injury during activities of daily living, integrating body awareness and mindfulness while improving posture, flexibility and joint mobility. StretchLab is the ideal place to do this! Outside of StretchLab, I spend my free time connecting with music, losing myself in books, staying active in various ways, enjoying the company of family and friends, and doing pretty much anything with my husband and two children. I'm looking forward to working with you, and whether you're looking for a meditative stretch or one that's going to push you to your limits (quite literally!), I assure you that your mind, body, soul and spirit will thank you!

I truly enjoy movement and feel that it’s vital for optimal health whether that movement is walking, running, dancing, or exercising. I want to help others achieve optimal health and improve their quality of life using my knowledge, skill and experiences.
