Sharon was born in Washington DC to a Japanese mother and American father.   After spending the first four years of her life in Japan,  Sharon grew up in Sacramento, California.  She received a B.A in Psychology from USC in 1981, and a M.F.A from the Peter Stark Motion Picture Producing Program at USC’s Cinema School in 1986.   She retired from a 20+ TV/Film executive career in 2007.  In addition, she served as secretary to the United States Ambassador to India in 1989 and was an Adjunct Professor in Screenwriting at USC for 6 years. 
Sharon has a college-bound son, a black cat and one very big dog who loves to hang out at StretchLab Santa Monica on Saturdays and Sundays.
